TRIAL AND ERROR!!

Hi friends,
How are you? This time I am back with something which I have never tried before.
First of all, I would like to open up myself. It's my dream to write a thriller, but I don't know how it will turn up...  Every reader's feedback is appreciated because the story is ultimately for you. Now no more talks... Let's start...

Chapter 1

CID BUREAU:

The Bureau appeared void and lifeless, as none of the officers were present in their seats. Two cabins of the bureau were unusually empty, whereas some cabins had the belongings of the officers, which indicated their presence in the bureau and their absence in the cabins.
In the forensic lab, Freddy, Pankaj and Purvi were waiting to know information about the corpse which was badly burnt.
Dr. Salunkhe was viewing something under the microscope, and Dr. Tarika was inside a room, which had some rare chemicals stored.

Purvi asked, "Sir! What did you get to know about the corpse?"
Dr. Salunkhe, without taking his eyes from the microscope, said, "I am checking it Purvi, I will get back to you in few minutes".
Freddy, Pankaj and Purvi left the lab, without speaking a word. Everyone got back to their seats and started working with their files. Time has changed them a lot. The place never had laughters, teasing, pranks, serious discussions etc., anymore. The loss of two honest officers of their department, remains as an irreparable wound.

FEW MINUTES LATER...

Dr. Salunkhe, came rushing out of the lab, calling, "Daya, Abhijeet!". Freddy, Pankaj and Purvi got shocked and turned their head towards the direction where Dr. Salunkhe was standing. Pankaj said in a sad tone, " Sir, whom are you calling? They're not here." Salunkhe said in a lower tone, "I'm sorry, I called their names by mistake. By the way, the corpse's details, couldn't be identified for now. The only detail we got was the person's height is probably near 6 feet and 2 inches. And we got some chemical traces, which is highly inflammable and a rare one. We're still working on it." When Salunkhe was about to leave slowly, Freddy stopped him. Freddy, with his tearful eyes, asked Salunkhe, "Six months had passed. I still couldn't believe it, sir. How could it happen?" Salunkhe consoled Freddy and said, " We have to accept the truth. What else can we do?" Purvi asked, "What's the truth, sir? Can an honest officer, kill another honest officer whom he considered to be more than a friend and a brother? Can a man who has risked his life for the nation's security, be a traitor to his own nation?" Salunkhe was shocked to see the fierce side of Purvi. He replied, "I know about him more than anyone. But I didn't get the opportunity to know the truth. In fact, none of us were allowed to do anything, including Pradyuman. Then who are we to decide the truth?"
Meanwhile, ACP Pradyuman, who was listening to the entire conversation outside the door, entered inside, without uttering a word and rushed into his cabin.
Everyone stopped the conversation and were shocked to see ACP, who was in a terrible mood. Silence remained for sometime.
After few minutes, Freddy entered into ACP's cabin, to show him the report of Salunkhe. ACP was sitting silent, thinking seriously about something. Freddy said in a lower tone, " Sir, here's the report from Salunkhe sir". ACP replied, "Keep it on the table and go". While Freddy was about to keep the report, another paper had fallen down. Freddy took up the paper and got shocked after reading it.

CENTRAL JAIL

In a cell, a man was lying on a stone bench, closing his eyes. Those eyes were not the same, which would kill the criminals by fear. His face never had the charm or life, it used to have before. Fate had given him a greater punishment, by taking away his beloved brother; a great friend and his duty, which he considered as his life. His heart was bleeding inside, like he got killed a million times. His heart murmured these words, "I couldn't say this to you forever, but my heart will beat only to say this to you. I'm sorry boss." His eyes were completely lifeless, they weren't capable to shed the tears for him. Suddenly a jailer, came and called out, "Hey Daya, get up". Daya slowly got up and went near the iron door, and stared at the jailer. His eyes had many questions, which can be answered only by time.

CID BUREAU:

Freddy after looking at the paper, screamed, " What's all this, sir?" ACP remained silent. Pankaj, Purvi, Salunkhe and Tarika gathered at ACP's cabin. Everybody looked each other with confusion. Tarika asked, "What happened Freddy?" Freddy said, "Have a look at it" and passed the paper. Tarika stood speechless after looking at the paper. She silently passed the paper to Salunkhe, who was looking at her face. Salunkhe, Purvi and Pankaj read the paper together. Their heart skipped a beat after reading it. Purvi shouted, "This is unfair, sir." ACP  remained silent. Salunkhe shouted, "Why are you silent, Pradyuman? At first we lost Abhijeet. Abhijeet is believed to be killed by Daya. Now Daya is serving life sentence. He had got more than enough. Now why should you encounter Daya?" ACP continued to be silent. Salunkhe asked, "Your silence is killing us. I have never seen a person like you. How did you accept to kill Daya? This order is unacceptable".
ACP shouted, "Stop it!! Who said that I had accepted to kill Daya? Yes, I agree that I am stone hearted. But it doesn't mean that I am heartless. First time in my life, I feel ashamed to be in this job. My heart and mind believes only in one thing. Daya cannot kill Abhijeet at any cost. But were we allowed to investigate it ? No.  Because we're under a system. Do you think that it is my decision to encounter Daya? No. I had to attend the meeting in the headquarters. I argued a lot, but DIG  had given me this order. I must act like a puppet. The reason behind this is because Daya is a threat to nation. I'm supposed to carry out this secretly, without even worrying about the consequences. Only thing I can do is to accept it, without giving way to emotions. It's my duty to follow the orders from the high command. This gun of mine must take Daya's life."
Purvi said, "This is a great conspiracy. We should not fall prey to this. We shouldn't lose Daya sir. Someone must be behind Abhijeet Sir's death and Daya sir's conviction. We should never give up."
ACP said, "Yes. I know that too. I had started understanding everything now".
Salunkhe asked, "So are you going to proceed with the encounter".
ACP said firmly, "For me, always duty is first. Only time can decide everything. But remember one thing. A battle is going to begin."

So why did Daya get sentenced for Abhijeet's murder? Did Daya kill Abhijeet? Will ACP Pradyuman carry out an encounter on Daya? Stay tuned to know the rest.

I know many of you would be terribly angry with me for writing this story. I am not sure if everything is written clear. Still I am waiting to hear back from you all!!
